Above are Photos of the Kinzua Bridge

The Kinzua Bridge, once dubbed the 'Eighth Wonder of the World', might not have ever come about if it wasn't for the persistence of General Thomas L. Kane. When his railroad, the Lake Erie & Western Railroad and Coal Company came to the Kinzua Creek valley, they had a decision to make. Take a four to six mile detour around the tops of the mountains, or shoot straight across with a viaduct. If this bridge was to be built, it would have to be the tallest and longest railroad structure built by man... so he built it...
